Are you getting the error message “Annonymous proxy or VPN detected”

Since anonymous proxy servers prevent us from accurately verifying geographical location, you will need to disable them before accessing videos on Chorki. If you’re unsure as to why you’re getting this error, below are a few common scenarios that can lead to you being identified as using an anonymous proxy.

Unsupported third-party app (or mobile device)

Currently, we’re only able to stream videos through our official Chorki app or website. If you are attempting to watch Chorki through a third-party app, or the browser on an unsupported mobile device, you may receive an anonymous proxy error message due to the way they attempt to serve our videos.

VPN or VPS to access Chorki

Many companies use Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) or Virtual Private Servers (VPS) to monitor and secure their employees’ internet traffic. Since they typically route all their online traffic through a central server, our system may determine that these servers are anonymous proxies.

If you are having trouble accessing Chorki while using your work computer, you may want to contact your company’s Network Administrator for help.

Anonymizing your web surfing

There are products available that can secure your online activities by anonymizing and encrypting your web traffic. These can sometimes appear to our service to be anonymous proxies.

You may need to temporarily disable any programs you’re running, or add chorki.com to an exception list to watch content on Chorki as we cannot stream videos to computers whose geographic location is anonymized. The best way to find out how to customize these settings would be to contact your vendor directly.

Block-listed IP address because of previous anonymous proxy use

Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) function by randomly assigning their customers Dynamic IP Addresses from a set pool of addresses. For various reasons, they occasionally reassign these addresses from one customer to another. While this does not usually result in any negative consequences, if the first customer to use a particular IP address was block-listed while running an anonymous proxy, it can carry over to the new customer assigned that address.

If you suspect that this is the case for you, the quickest way to clear it up is by contacting your Internet Service Provider and asking them to assign you a new IP address. Let them know you think you may be getting blocked because a previous customer was running a proxy server.
